Explanations on the 4 Steps -- first Step

Dear friends, I do not have enough time to write in the last few days, here is the explanation to the first step. I will put the rest here soon.

//////////////////////

Even though I keep a part of no. 3 to those who enroll into my program, you can practice just follow what I put in the blog. If you realize what I mean, then you can go further to ask me the rest part. It is not because I try to be sneaky, but I want you to think more before you make a decision to study with me.

The following is my detailed explanation of the methods.

First Step:

Lie on your back. Put your hands together in front of your chest. Imagine a bright ball hanging inside your chest absorbing energy from the universe, especially the growing taller energy. (You may think there is a growing taller god next to you helping your growth in the whole practice.)

Explanation:

Because lying on the bed is the most relaxed position for your body, your body can respond to you with the most relaxed way. Also it won’t take your work or study time. But if you feel more comfortable you can sit on the bed or lie on your side. When you practice more, you will notice that your Qi moves from your forehead to the back head and back in the middle line. So sit and lie on the side should be better, but lying on the back gives your legs and body a better pose to extend.Lie your head on either left or right side, so you will find that your Qi can move freely around your head central line.

To put hands in front of your chest is to strength the idea of gathering the universal energy into one point of your body. In Taoism, it emphasizes the idea of “guarding the One”. (Scholarly you can read some articles by professor Livia Kohn from Boston University http://daoiststudies.org/bibliography.php?ofield=Author&begin=1000 and Taoist Meditation by French scholar Isabelle Robinet and more of her books http://daoiststudies.org/bibliography.php?ofield=Author&begin=1800 ). It is an imagination at first, but from your focus, your body is going to change from chaos (as you normally know various parts, systems, etc) into one clear unity connecting the universe inside out. Usually it is said men should focus on the part inside the bellybutton and women inside chest. I do not think it is very necessary. You should find a place most comfortable for you inside your body, and that is the right place. I found the chest area is the best place to start.

Through long time practice, you will see the light inside, usually the light is from your forehead (but it lasts various), and the universe becomes clear to you during the practice. You are linked to the whole universe instead of a single unrelated person. Through long practice of guarding the bright one, you increase your inner power Qi. Then when your mind wants to have something down, your Qi will respond right away, namely to grow your body for us.

Although this is just a beginning of the practice, do not glance it away. I have already touched the very important part of the practice. In order to grow taller in a quicker time, you should practice focusing on a spot inside your body whenever you have time, or have conscience to do so at any moment.

A growing taller god is another way to assist your practice, especially for those having spiritual belief. If you believe in Jesus Christ, you can take him as the growing taller god, or Buddha, or some minor deity, or some of your past favorite ancestor, or someone alive you think who can give you the utmost support. This will relief some of your pressure while practicing by knowing that you are not alone.

You need quite many times before you feel their existence. When you experience them with you, do not have any excitement, or panic. Calmly accept them with you. You will know that this world is not just this world and you will change and grow taller because you see more reasons.

Second Step Explanation

Second Step:

Inhale and imagine breathing in growing taller energy from the universe into your chest. Then the energy is absorbed into the bright ball.

Explanation:

On the first step, we just expose ourselves to the universe as a bright ball and absorb energy from all directions. Now in this step, we are absorbing energy through our breath. The breath should be slow and deep. At first, you may feel too hard to do, but pay attention to each breath and gradually you will be used to the slow breathing mood and you will find out that your body actually like is style of breath more.

When we open our eyes, we always look outside. Our energy is scattered. So when you inhale and imagine breathing in energy, you are doing something completely opposite to what we normally do. When you imagine the growing taller energy absorbed into your bright ball through inhaling, the ball become the source of your energy.

So when you need this energy to work on something, you just need release it. Since the energy comes from the universe, it is endless and powerful. Can we say this is Tao?

“The Tao is infinite, eternal.
Why is it eternal?
It was never born;
thus it can never die.
Why is it infinite?
It has no desires for itself;
thus it is present for all beings.”
Note: quote from http://academic.brooklyn.cuny.edu/core9/phalsall/texts/taote-v3.html

Third Step Explanation

Exhale and imagine spreading the energy into your body inside. You can imagine spreading the energy just to legs or from chest to all directions. During most of the time I imagine the first kind.

Important: With EACH exhalation, speak to yourself loudly inside "taller" and imagine your legs, (If you imagine the second way, then think about also your arms, and neck) extending longer. Soon you will find the power of speak is indescribable.

Explanation:

Imagination is so amazing that it can make you fly or swim or grow taller by just lying on the bed. Imagine, imagine, all you do is imagine. More importantly, you should make imagination real. You have to think your imagination is not just an imagination, it will become real and IT IS REAL RIGHT THIS MOMENT.

No effort is needed on your real body. This is very important. No physical effort. Sometimes we feel our real body responding to our thinking, we get excited and start moving our legs around trying to find out whether we really grow a little bit. Be calm, very calm, still be in the state of imagine. Why? Because any achievement is from our mental thinking, our physical move will disturb our mind. Nevertheless, I do not mean we should not do any physical exercises during the day, I myself love sports. But here we are in a completely different situation.

When you exhale and imagine the energy going down from the ball, you may find also at the same time it is easier to just follow your breath down your legs. You can do both or one of each. All of your thinking should be inside of your body, either going down to your legs or spread to your legs, arms, neck, spinal. You can imagine your body is the universe and you can stretch as much as you could inside. Or you are growing above your ideal height line. Anything that suits your mind should be good.

From my own experience, since just imagine the legs extended actually made the whole body grow, you should believe your body is smart enough to grow proportionally.

Finally, I need explain the importance of language, you can use the word I used or create your own. Why adding the element of language into our imagination will we speed up our practice more. I do not really know, but it works like this. Why there are the 'Six Syllable - ' or the 'Mani Mantra' Om Mani Padme Hum in Buddhism? I do not know, but here is something about the effect of sound may help us to see something more historical and spiritual: Seed Syllable

(from http://www.voxmundiproject.com/recommended_readings_13.htm)

A mantra is made up of one or more syllables, and almost any syllable can be used as a mantra. However, the most usual mantras are associated with a particular deity and appear as part of the ritual of worship of that deity -- a formula of praise/ invocation.

Certain individual sounds known as bijas, referred to as 'seed-syllables,' are thought to contain the essence of a mantra and, by association, the essence of the deity. For example, the Sanskrit (or the Tibetan) letter A (see red image below) is considered to stand for the essence of the Prajnaparamita (Heart Sutra) formula.

In the higher yoga tantras, the seed syllable plays an important role in the profound meditative process known as "taking the three kayas as a path," which is a technique to transform death, bardo and rebirth. Out of Space, we visualize the deity's seed syllable, the Samboghakaya (Enjoyment Body) understood as the mind of a Buddha, and this purifies the bardo state. The seed grows into the Nirmanakaya form of the deity, the actual manifestation which is understood to purify rebirth.

This ancient technique that uses the emergent and growing bija is a brilliant invention -- a multi-layered process in which the visual sign of a sound creates a kind of sensory synthesis. As it grows and transforms, we have an actual example of creation as in a "Word made Flesh" (New Testament, 'Gospel of John.') However, this ability is not to be thought of as the exclusive activity of omnipotent beings.

As we participate in this process of symbolizing symbols in which we draw out of Emptiness a name or label which then is made to grow into a form or object, in this case the actual form of a buddha, we are in immediate touch not only with the deity but with our own nature. We experience in an objective fashion, the basis and process by which all phenomena, including buddhas, arise.

The Fourth Step Explanation

Fourth step:

In the end, use 5 to 10 minutes to imagine your body is extended and the present condition is perfectly preserved inside your chest as a bright ball. (Thank the growing taller god and ask the god to come back to help you again next time when you practice.)

Explanation:

When you practice your height increase Qigong, your Qi spreads all over your body to realize your wish. The fourth step is important is that it gathers your energy finally into the bright ball again, so your body is united into this one bright ball with your imagined ideal height stored. You can find out that with more and more practice, this final step makes the nerve system inside your brain respond the most. It is like electricity flashing inside your head and your head becomes light and clear. You will feel a core like thing in the back of your head emitting energy around your head and back bone. I wonder whether that is the part we know producing growth hormone responding.

You can extend your practice during the day. You can remind yourself the existing of this energy bright ball, even better to imagine that you are the ball and your body is just a material for you to work on. Try one experiment: when you have headache, ignore your body, just put your whole mind into the ball. Can you feel that your headache is releasing? I certainly do. By the same method, you can use it for any other usage you want.

There is something similar between the Sun and the bright ball. This universe depends on the Sun’s energy and our body depends on our bright ball’s energy. Hopefully this simile helps you visualizing the ball inside you easier and quicker.

Those who have an image of god helping you can go to sleep alone with god free by your courteous thank. I can not explain too much reason on this aspect, because I learned this from reading Taoist scriptures (especially in early Shangqing scriptures) and some Qigong practice. They taught me , for example, to imagine a god riding a seven colorful clouds descending into my certain part of my body giving me the energy from the clouds and I should thank the god who helps me. Many people claimed seeing gods in Qigong class, but I was unable to do so. So I do not know how much truth that holds, but I certainly feel quite comfortable to add this element into my practice.

More We Can Do?

Our brain is the most valuable thing in this world. As Kant says what our human beings are different from other species is that we are the only ones who ask questions to nature and try to find out answers. So our future is unpredictable unlike animals.

You, as a perfect human being, should not confine your thinking into a certain circle. You should believe your own ability and believe that you will realize your dream sooner or later. Here are a few tips for you to think when you practice growing taller Qigong.

First, Can you imagine your body is like a house, or a balloon?

When you lay down at night starting to practice, you can imagine standing inside the front door of a house at night. Then you turn on the light, and you see everything inside the house. Your heart, lung, stomach, bones, muscles, joints are so clear to you that you can feel them.

Then imagine your body is like a big balloon, you can extend it so easily. This is from a lesson that I learned from a Qigong class. My Qigong teacher taught us to imagine our body being extended by Qi like a balloon, well, his purpose was to let us feel the circulation of Qi. He also taught us to imagine a piece of thin brick (about half thickness as a normal brick) as a piece of Tofu when we use our hand to break it. It was so much fun when I saw myself breaking thin bricks.

Second, can you have the consciousness that your body is in the same situation during the day as when you practice Qigong at night?

Even if you have a lot of work to do during the day, you still concern about your height in the back of your head all the time, I know how that feels. Why do not you add more to it? When you stand or walk, you can imagine exhaling and extending your body from the feet to the legs, the joints, the spine, the neck, to the sky. When you sit, you can imagine exhaling and extending your body from chest to arms neck, and feet. Gradually, you will form the habit of giving yourself a positive attitude when you see so many taller people around you because you are growing taller right now. And since you practice breathing with slow speed, your health and temperament will be improved.

Third, can you imagine that you are the bright light ball inside your body?

Our eyes are important. We depend on them to see the world and guide our mind thinking. But this is not it. If you try to put your mind into the ball and look around, you can find out you can see different world, you can control your energy easier, and your body is happier about this change. I feel when you exhale and see the Qi going down your body from the ball, your body is in the most relaxed condition and responds quicker.

Fourth, do you know what kind of nature you have?

I believe some of you may grow either much quicker than me or much slower even if you know Qigong from me and have never practiced meditation. Why? We have different nature. Some people are very suspicious about anything new they hear, some doubtful, some acceptable.

When you decide to do something, then you should let your mind free. Otherwise, when you practice, one part of your mind is still holding your action. The effect would be affected.

So you can give yourself some time to train your brain being totally free of worry. See how that goes. One way is to spend some time to practice just step one or four.

You do not need to know the whole system of Chinese culture or Qigong history like I did. Focus on one thing, relax, and you will find out what I mean yourself.
